Quick & Easy Biscuits

This is a tried and true biscuit recipe that was given to us several years ago by a friend. We’ve changed it slightly, but there wasn’t much room for improvement on these simple and versatile biscuits!

Here are the ingredients needed.

Ummm… you just mix everything together.

The dough looks something like this.

Then form it into balls and place on a greased baking sheet. It usually makes 9 biscuits for us.

Some of the variations we’ve done: we usually substitute half whole wheat flour for the white. And we found that sometimes a little bit more milk was needed – just add until it feels right. We also switch out oil for applesauce, and we added a little vanilla for flavor.

Our friend also shared the option of making cheese biscuits: just add a cup of shredded cheese to the batter before shaping it into biscuits. I don’t really care for cheese, but I’m sure that would be a popular option for many people.

These biscuits go great with everything, and they could work for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They taste wonderful with honey!

Quick & Easy Biscuits

2 cups flour (can do 1 cup all-purpose and 1 cup whole wheat)

1 tsp. salt

3 tsp. baking powder

cup applesauce

cup milk

1 tsp. vanilla

  1. Combine flour, salt, and baking powder, then add milk , applesauce, and vanilla. Mix all together until moist.
  2. Form into balls and place on greased baking sheet (makes about 9).
  3. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes or until light brown.
